Single-Hung Aluminum Window
The upper glazed section stays fixed while the lower sash moves up within the frame. Ventilation enters through the opening beneath the raised sash. Neither sash swings over a walkway or into the room, but the lower sash remains in front of the upper section when open.
The coated aluminum perimeter contains the fixed upper glass and guides the lower sash vertically. Frame depth, glazing pockets and any thermal-break construction belong to the selected section system.
The lower-sash hardware is matched to the full glazed sash weight, and the meeting rail brings the two sections together when closed, with the lock and seals. Handles, balances, locks and stops are chosen as one operating package.
Clear insulating glass uses two panes with a specified cavity and safety treatment. The upper fixed section and moving lower sash can use a coordinated appearance, while their actual glass sizes remain separate. The complete build must fit the frame and sash pockets.
Low-E glass changes the coating inside the insulating unit, and laminated glass adds an interlayer. Either can change the lower sash's weight, so the balances and operating hardware are chosen for the actual glass.
The coating reference records color, sheen and the exposed frame faces. The meeting-rail lock, lift grip and screen frame are coordinated with it, and a contrasting lock finish is specified deliberately when you want one.

Overall window height includes the fixed upper section, lower sash and frame members. It is not the clear ventilation height. The opening schedule records the lower sash travel and the remaining clear height in millimeters, including any stop or limiter that restricts travel.
The sill and lift grip should be accessible from the user’s normal position. A deep counter or furniture in front of the window can make a vertically moving sash difficult to lift. The selected operating arrangement accounts for that reach without assuming that vertical travel means effortless operation at every size.
The screen covers the ventilation opening and needs a removable cleaning arrangement. The upper fixed glass still requires an exterior cleaning route. Sill drainage remains open after trim and sealants are installed; a screen does not substitute for drainage or structural fall protection.
We separate the upper fixed area from the lower moving sash. Frame width, height and the meeting-rail position determine the glass and aluminum quantities. A different proportion changes the moving sash mass and usable lower opening.
Insulating, Low-E and laminated packages are priced with the hardware needed for the moving sash. The balance and lock selection follows the complete leaf mass and travel.
Coating reference, lock finish and screen type are three selections, and opening stops or other accessories are included opening by opening, chosen for their installed function and compatibility.
The supplied package contains the scheduled frame, upper glass, lower sash and matched operating parts. Opening preparation, structural fixing, flashing, perimeter sealing and local installation are separate site items. Packing and freight follow actual frame sizes and destination.
