Stone Mosaic & Inlay Purchasing Questions

How do stone mosaics differ from stone-look tile?

They are real stone, with natural variation and texture; stone-look tile is printed ceramic.

What supports a mesh-backed mosaic?

The adhesive and floor base. The mesh only holds the pattern for handling.

What do you need to quote a medallion?

Diameter, pattern, stone colors and border. We send a drawing for approval.

How do you calculate mosaic coverage?

From the actual repeat, since interlocking edges make sheet size differ from coverage.

Can I change the border?

Yes, its width and stone, as long as it meets the main pattern.

Why are loose pieces numbered?

So each shape goes to its exact position on site.
