Melamine Closet Panels, Hanging Bays & Drawers

Melamine Wardrobe Panels & Finished Edges

The open closet combines melamine-faced particleboard drawer fronts with particleboard or plywood cabinet-box options. The plywood build uses 18 mm sides, bottoms and shelves with a supported 6 mm back. Matching edge banding finishes the shelves and dividers, which are seen from several angles in an open closet.

Long-Hang & Double-Hang Closet Bays

Long-hang bays keep a clear drop for dresses and coats; double-hang bays divide shorter clothing between two rails. Rails, shelves and drawers occupy separate vertical zones. That arrangement makes it possible to place frequently used items within reach without treating every bay as identical storage.

Closet Drawers, Shoe Shelves & Accessory Trays

The storage package can combine fixed shelves, hanging rails and drawer banks. Wooden drawers use full-extension runners so their contents remain accessible beneath a shelf or rail. Shoe shelves, accessory trays, trouser racks and pull-down rails are optional fittings with their own space requirements.

Light Oak-Look Melamine Closet Panels

Light oak is a printed melamine decor for a light wood-grain interior, with the grain aligned across dividers, drawer fronts and backs. Matching edges matter in an open closet, because shelf ends sit in full view beside the broad panel faces.

Walnut-Look Melamine Wardrobe Interiors

Walnut-look decor gives the same open storage a darker appearance. Large backs and narrow shelf edges show the pattern differently. A contrasting drawer bank can have its own decor allocation while retaining the same cabinet construction and storage layout.

Warm White Melamine Closet Shelves & Backs

Warm white works across backs, shelves and drawers or as a contrast to wood-look panels. Cabinet finish and lighting color are chosen independently: the panel sample sets the shade and texture, and the light specification sets how clothing is lit.

Walk-In Closet Aisles, Lighting & Wall Fixings

Walk-In Closet Aisles, Islands & Corner Access

The plan measures the aisle between the actual storage fronts, including projecting clothes and pulls. Drawers need room to extend into that aisle. An island adds both storage and another opening path, so its width and position are planned with the opposing bays from the start.

Closet LED Channels, Sensors & Driver Access

Shelf-front lights reveal garment colors differently from vertical lights beside a hanging bay. A lighting package includes its channels, diffusers, drivers, controls and cables. Accessible driver positions keep later servicing out of the finished panel faces; connection to the building power supply remains local electrical work.

Wardrobe Leveling, Wall Fixings & Baseboards

Floor-standing units use a leveled base and wall restraints appropriate to the substrate. Baseboards and uneven walls are absorbed in the filler and rear-clearance layout. Wall-supported arrangements are a separate structural option, with the load path carried into the support design.

Melamine Walk-In Closet Cost Factors

Walk-In Closet Bay Sizes & Panel Quantities

The cabinet package is counted by bays, panels, rails, shelves and drawer units. A full back, open back, corner return or island changes that count, which is why the price is built from the storage components, with room floor area only a starting point.

Closet Rods, Drawer Runners & Storage Fittings

Rails and fixed shelves form a different fitting package from pull-down rails, trouser racks or accessory trays. Full-extension drawer runners are matched to each drawer bank. Optional fittings are kept separate so the cost of an added function is clear.

Melamine Closet Finishes & Lighting Components

A decor change affects the faces and exposed edges it touches. Lighting means a complete circuit around the LED strip, and the quote lists the cabinet finish, storage accessories, lighting components and local power connection as separate lines.

Closet Freight, Site Access & Assembly

Long side panels and backs determine packing and room access through doors, stairs or elevators. Freight, unloading and room delivery remain separate from site assembly. Wall backing, floor preparation and electrical work are also distinct site costs. Tell us the rooms and quantities and we will put this on one quote with everything else you are ordering, and show you what fits in a container.

Melamine Walk-In Closet System FAQs

Are wood-look melamine closet panels the same as solid wood?

The wood-look faces are printed melamine decor over particleboard, so the oak or walnut look comes from the decor. Plywood is available as a cabinet-box option. The face and edge choices give the closet its color; the panel construction gives it structure.

How deep should a walk-in closet hanging bay be?

The nominal planning depth is 24 inches. The clear hanging depth is measured inside the cabinet after the back, hanger and rail position are allowed for. Bulky garments or unusually wide hangers can need more room, while folded-item bays can use a different shelf depth.

How much aisle space is needed for drawers or a closet island?

The aisle must accommodate the actual drawer extension plus the person using it. Projecting clothing and pulls reduce that space. The island and opposing drawer banks are therefore laid out together, keeping a usable passage when a drawer is open.

Can lights and sensors be built into the melamine closet system?

Yes. A cabinet lighting package can include recessed lights, channels, diffusers, drivers, cables and sensor or switch controls. Drivers remain accessible for service. The building power connection is a separate electrical task, with the lighting circuit selected for the local supply.

What weight can the closet shelves and hanging rails support?

Each shelf and rail has its own span, supports and permitted load. A long shelf can need another support or a different panel arrangement. The selected runner’s load class applies to that drawer system; it is not a combined capacity for the closet.

Do floor-standing walk-in closet units still need wall restraints?

Yes. Tall units and drawers can create overturning forces even when the base stands on the floor. Wall restraints are matched to masonry or the reinforced framing behind the wall finish. Leveling, fillers and concealed services are coordinated with those fixings.
