Two-Tier Console Top, Panel Ends & Open Shelf

A Continuous Top on Two Straight Panel Ends

The selected console has a continuous 1200 × 300 mm top over two matching straight end panels. The top and ends use 25 mm maple-veneered plywood, with the grain running along the top and vertically down the ends. The full-depth ends support the narrow table without separate metal legs, angled panels or a central pedestal.

An Open Lower Shelf between the Ends

An 18 mm lower shelf spans the 1150 mm space between the end panels. Its top is set 200 mm above the floor, leaving a nominal 575 mm front opening below the underside of the main top. The shelf and main top form two continuous display levels; there are no doors, drawers or partitions in this selected construction.

Fixed Joinery and a Rear Connecting Rail

Fixed joints connect the top, shelf and end panels, while a rear rail below the top ties the ends together. The front stays open, and the upper rear rail occupies only its scheduled strip at the back. The actual joint and shelf-support detail follows the intended display items and handling method. This passive console has no folding or height-adjustment mechanism.

Maple Veneer, Panel Edges & Clear Matte Finish

Selected maple veneer panels, coordinated exposed edges and the different top/end and shelf thicknesses

Maple Veneer and Coordinated Panel Edges

Maple veneer covers the selected plywood panels. The top perimeter, shelf front and end-panel edges receive coordinated maple edging, so the core is not left exposed. Grain direction and the accepted range of natural color are set across the complete unit.

Clear Matte Finish across Both Tiers

The selected surface is a clear matte finish that keeps the maple grain on show. The finish schedule covers both horizontal tiers, the inner and outer end faces, exposed edges and rear rail. The accepted panel-and-edge sample establishes the sheen and color together.

Surface Protection for Display Items

Soft pads under hard objects protect the finished panels from direct abrasion. Use a soft cloth for dusting, wipe spills promptly and dry the surface after wiping. Planters need a separate watertight liner and tray so moisture does not sit on the veneer or collect at the shelf edges.

Console Shelf Space, Baseboards & Wall Restraint

1200 mm Width with a 300 mm Depth

The selected overall size is 1200 mm long, 300 mm deep and 800 mm high. The shallow depth suits a wall-adjacent furniture position, while the complete 300 mm footprint remains part of the walking route. A baseboard, wall outlet or uneven wall can create a gap behind the table; that gap is added to the room allocation on top of the table depth.

1150 mm Shelf Width and a 575 mm Front Opening

Two 25 mm end panels leave 1200 - 25 - 25 = 1150 mm between their inner faces. The top underside is at 800 - 25 = 775 mm; subtracting the 200 mm shelf-top elevation gives a nominal 575 mm front opening. The rear rail and actual joints can occupy part of the upper rear space, so tall objects are laid out against that detail as well as the front opening.

Floor Contact, Wall Restraint and Placement

The end panels meet the floor through the agreed protective contact detail, accommodated within the selected overall height. The actual floor, intended objects and location determine the restraint and stability detail. Where a wall restraint is specified, its attachment suits the wall backing and finish. The console is furniture placed beside a wall, with restraint and site fixing each scheduled.

Custom Two-Tier Console Pricing & Supply

Panel Thickness, Veneer and Edge Work

The material line identifies the 25 mm top and ends, 18 mm shelf, maple veneer and exposed edge finish. Face selection and grain coordination affect the panel work. Changing the length or adding heavier display items can also change the required shelf and joint detail.

Fixed Joints, Rear Rail and Assembly

The console price includes the selected shelf and rear connecting rail with their agreed joints. Delivery as one assembly or as parts joined on site is stated for the access route and packing plan.

Finish Sample and Actual Table Quantities

The finish sample combines veneer, exposed edge treatment and the clear matte coating. Table quantities are listed next to samples and spare finish materials. Lamps, mirrors, baskets and other room accessories are outside the console line unless individually included.

Packing, Restraint and Site Placement

Packing protects the narrow top corners, shelf edges and panel faces. Freight, unloading, internal placement and any wall-restraint installation are assigned for the destination. The quote states the actual quantity, accepted finish and delivery condition before price and timing are finalized. Tell us the rooms and quantities and we will put this on one quote with everything else you are ordering, and show you what fits in a container.

Two-Tier Maple Console Ordering FAQs

Does the console have drawers or closed storage?

No. The selected unit has a main top and one open lower shelf between two straight panel ends. A rear connecting rail sits below the main top, while the front remains open. Drawers, doors and internal partitions would require a different construction schedule.

How much open shelf space is available?

The selected width between the end panels is 1150 mm. The lower shelf top is 200 mm above the floor and the main top underside is 775 mm high, giving a nominal 575 mm front opening. The rear rail and joints are also checked when an object uses the full depth or upper rear space.

Are the top and ends solid maple?

The selected construction is maple-veneered plywood, with a 25 mm top and end panels and an 18 mm lower shelf. Coordinated maple edging finishes the exposed edges. The veneer, panel core and edge treatment are separate material components in the order.

Can the console sit against a wall with a baseboard?

Yes, with the wall gap and restraint planned for that room. The selected table is 300 mm deep before any gap behind it. The baseboard, outlets and wall condition determine its final position, while any restraint is fixed to suitable backing under the assigned installation responsibility.

Can a heavy object be placed on either tier?

The intended objects and their support areas are included in the order brief so the panel, joint and restraint detail can be set accordingly. Large concentrated loads are reviewed with the complete support arrangement.

What is included in the console quotation?

The console line lists the top, two ends, lower shelf, rear rail, agreed joints and finish. Samples, protective floor contact, any wall restraint, packing, freight and internal placement are separate scheduled items. The delivery condition identifies any site assembly and the responsible installer.
