Is this a pocket door or a wall-mounted sliding door?
It is a wall-mounted sliding door. The leaf parks across the face of the adjacent wall and runs on a surface-mounted top track. It does not include an in-wall pocket frame or require a hollow wall cavity.
Which sliding door construction should I choose?
The 35 mm honeycomb and melamine package is the lighter interior choice. The 40 mm tubular-core package adds solid-wood edges and an oak veneer face over HDF, and the 45 mm laminated-core package suits a larger leaf, with pine or LVL named in the schedule. Hardware is matched to the weight of the package you choose.
How much wall space does the sliding door need?
The wall must allow the complete leaf to park far enough to clear the intended passage. Leaf width, overlap, stop position and pull projection determine that travel. The configuration drawing separates the opening from the parking zone so wall switches, furniture and trim can be coordinated.
What is included with the sliding track set?
The set comprises a top track, twin ball-bearing hangers, anti-jump blocks, stops and a floor guide, with the recessed pull listed with the door. Soft close and alternative track materials are options, and wall anchors and reinforcement are defined for your wall.
Can I add soft close to the wood sliding door?
Yes, soft close is an option in the hardware package. The damper must suit the complete leaf weight, track and required closing direction.
Will the sliding door provide the same seal as a hinged door?
No. A surface-mounted sliding leaf has clearances around its edges. Side overlap can limit sightlines. If the room needs a specified privacy, sound or smoke-control performance, the complete door and sealing assembly needs a suitable separate specification.
