How are inset cabinets different from overlay cabinets?
Inset doors and drawers sit inside the front frame, with their faces flush to it. Overlay fronts cover part or most of the cabinet front.
Are the frame and doors solid maple?
Maple is the hardwood for the face frames and door frames. The flat center panels have their own construction for the painted finish, and the cabinet body is plywood, so we describe the cabinet as maple-framed.
Can I choose a plain or beaded inset frame?
Yes. The square option uses a plain opening edge; the beaded option adds a small molded edge around that opening. The bead profile, corners, door clearance and hinge preparation are coordinated in the selected shop detail.
What clearance is left around an inset door?
The accepted door and hardware detail sets the clearance. Wood movement, coating build-up, hinge geometry and the installed cabinet position all affect it.
Can standard drawer accessories fit behind the face frame?
Only when their clear opening and mounting match the cabinet. The face frame narrows the opening compared with the outside box width, so drawer and pull-out dimensions are scheduled behind the frame.
What does an inset kitchen quotation include?
It lists the cabinet bodies, hardwood frames, inset fronts, shelves, selected drawers, fittings and finished panels. Countertops, sinks, appliances, lighting and interior accessories are separate unless named. Packing, freight and installation are individually stated.
