Double-swing gate
The gate uses two side-hinged leaves that meet at the center of the driveway. Perimeter frames surround the ornamental infill and lower panels, giving the entrance a defined outline when closed. The steel configuration keeps the frame and infill on one material schedule; decorative details, member sections and hinge attachment areas belong to that same gate drawing.
Open bars retain views through the upper gate, while framed lower panels give the bottom of each leaf a more enclosed appearance. Scrollwork and raised details can follow a restrained or more ornate pattern. The top profile, center meeting line and any adjoining pedestrian gate are laid out together so the entrance reads as one composition.
Each leaf needs its own hinge support, an operating sweep and a defined closed position. The hardware schedule separates hinges, latch or lock, closing stops and any drop bolts. Gate-post fabrication and the connection to masonry columns are separate from the decorative leaf design; their sections and anchors follow the gate size, site exposure and supporting structure.
Brown gives the steel entrance a warmer tone alongside stone columns, brick or timber finishes. The finish schedule covers both faces, perimeter edges and the selected exposed hardware. Ornamental recesses and raised pieces share the same finish selection, so no secondary color is left unspecified.
Black gives the bars, scrollwork and perimeter frames a stronger silhouette. The powder-coat system is selected for use over galvanized steel, with surface preparation included in the coating specification. Color and sheen are separate choices.
A two-tone finish picks out selected scrolls, borders or raised ornaments against a darker gate body. The accent drawing identifies which pieces receive the second color on each face. This adds finishing work without changing the opening width, swing arrangement or steel leaf construction.

The dimensioned layout uses a 3,600 mm clear driveway opening and a nominal 1,800 mm gate height. These are the selected project dimensions; fabrication widths account for the hinge and meeting clearances. An arched top needs both its center and side heights on the order drawing, while a straight top uses one consistent height line.
Two leaves divide the opening into shorter swing sections, but each still needs clear space through its full travel. Driveway slope, paving buildup and the position of a parked vehicle affect the usable sweep. The plan drawing records opening direction and the hinge axes; the site-level drawing sets the bottom edge and any change in clearance through the arc.
The gate support is coordinated with structural posts or hinge plates inside the entrance columns. Foundations, embedded steel and anchors are designed for the leaf weight and site loads. A powered installation also needs a specified operator, controls, safety devices and electrical work. Those items form their own engineered system, specified alongside the gate.
Larger openings and taller leaves change steel quantities, handling and hinge demands. Our quote identifies the opening, top profile, framed panels and infill pattern so two gate prices can be compared on the same configuration.
Dense scrollwork, raised ornaments and individually accented pieces add fabrication and finishing work. A simpler bar pattern reduces those operations. Powder-coat color, sheen and preparation over the galvanized steel stay on the same finish schedule.
Hinges, latch or lock, stops and drop bolts are listed by function. Posts, structural plates and adjoining pedestrian gates are their own line items. Operators, control equipment and safety devices need their own system specification and installation plan.
Leaf dimensions determine the packing frame and unloading space. Freight and local delivery are priced against the destination and shipment arrangement. Foundations, field welding or anchoring, electrical work and final adjustment are each identified next to the fabricated gate package.
