Sliding Wardrobe Panels, Overlaps & Running Gear

Melamine Sliding Door Panels & Wardrobe Boxes

The sliding fronts use melamine-faced particleboard, paired with particleboard or plywood storage boxes. The plywood-box option has 18 mm sides, bottoms and shelves with a supported 6 mm back. Each moving leaf is built as one door assembly: panel, edge or frame, and grip.

Bypass Wardrobe Doors & Meeting Overlaps

Bypass leaves travel on separate paths, allowing one door to park in front of another. A two-leaf arrangement alternates access between the two sides; a three-leaf arrangement creates different parking and access combinations. Door overlap, profiles and stops reduce the clear opening available to the storage behind.

Optional Hettich TopLine L Sliding Door System

TopLine L is a two-track, top-running option for two- or three-leaf overlay layouts. Its head assembly carries the door weight while the lower guide controls movement. The running kit, profiles, guides, stops and selected Silent System components form a matched package, separate from the internal drawer runners.

Walnut-Look Sliding Wardrobe Doors

Walnut-look melamine gives the large sliding leaves a dark wood-grain face. The decor runs with the closed door elevation and still reads correctly where the doors overlap. Fixed side panels and header covers take the same front finish.

Light Oak-Look Door Panels & Side Fillers

Light oak-look doors can be paired with a different interior decor. The oak look is a printed melamine pattern. Grips, edge profiles and wall fillers complete the front, including the parts that show when a leaf is parked.

Warm White Sliding Doors & Profile Contrast

Warm-white doors provide a solid-color alternative with matching or contrasting grips and profiles. The overlap edges and header define the closed elevation. Their finish is selected together so the parked leaves and fixed side pieces remain consistent.

Sliding Wardrobe Openings, Drawers & Track Access

Built-In Wardrobe Openings & Track Levels

The surveyed opening defines the cabinet and filler widths. For the top-running option, the head and its supports carry the completed doors; the lower track is a guide. Back, hanger and front-track space are allowed for within the nominal cabinet depth, with added depth where the garment or mechanism needs it.

Sliding Door Positions & Internal Drawer Access

A drawer bank belongs behind a space the parked leaves can fully uncover. Its front and pull need to pass both the door profile and the full opening path. The two-leaf layout alternates access from side to side; three-leaf layouts are developed around their own parking positions and drawer divisions.

Wardrobe Track Cleaning & Service Access

Head covers remain removable where the mechanism needs adjustment or replacement access. The door-removal path is kept clear of ceiling returns and neighboring cabinetry. Recording the running kit and profiles also makes later replacement parts easier to identify.

Built-In Sliding Wardrobe Cost Factors

Sliding Door Count, Panel Size & Profiles

The front assembly is priced part by part: moving leaves, exposed profiles, grips, fixed ends and header covers. Leaf quantity, dimensions and total weight affect both the panel and the running-system cost, and the interior storage boxes have a subtotal of their own.

Wardrobe Tracks, Retention Parts & Soft Close

The TopLine L option is priced as its matched running and guide package. Closing dampers, opening dampers and any additional components are identified by the door arrangement. That makes the soft-close coverage clear for each leaf instead of assigning one generic function to the whole wardrobe.

Built-In Wardrobe Interiors & Lighting

The interior package contains the scheduled shelves, rails and drawer units, positioned within the accessible bays. Pullouts, baskets and lighting are optional lines. A front-decor change can therefore be priced without silently changing the interior material or fitting package.

Sliding Wardrobe Delivery & Installation

Large leaves and long tracks determine protective packing and room access. Cabinet assembly and mechanism setting are separate from freight and unloading. Fillers, leveling and head-support work retain identifiable installation responsibilities. Tell us the rooms and quantities and we will put this on one quote with everything else you are ordering, and show you what fits in a container.

Built-In Sliding Door Wardrobe FAQs

How much of a sliding wardrobe can I open at one time?

In a two-leaf bypass layout, one leaf slides in front of the other and leaves the opposite side open. The clear opening is smaller than the nominal bay because profiles, overlap and stops take up space. A three-leaf layout parks its doors differently, so it gets its own door and storage plan.

Can internal drawers sit anywhere behind sliding wardrobe doors?

No. Drawers belong behind a space the parked door can uncover completely. The drawer front, pull and full extension must pass the leaf and its profile. Rails and shelves are easier to place in an overlap zone because they do not need a drawer’s outward travel.

How does the optional TopLine L wardrobe system support the doors?

It is a top-running, two-track overlay system. The head assembly carries the leaves, and the lower guides control their path. The selected 50 kg kit is limited by the completed mass of each leaf, including its panel, profiles and grip; that rating is not the cabinet’s storage capacity.

Are soft-close and anti-jump parts included with the wardrobe tracks?

The mechanism quotation identifies the running kit and selected Silent System components for the two- or three-leaf arrangement. Closing and opening damping are distinct parts. Retention and guide components follow that kit’s instructions, while internal drawer soft close is a separate fitting choice.

Can I change the sliding door panels while keeping the same running gear?

A replacement leaf has to stay within the running kit's thickness, size and finished-weight limits, and a different core, glass infill or profile can change all three. The overlap, guides and fixing positions must also still line up, so we treat it as a new door assembly and check it against the track.

Can the wardrobe tracks and rollers be serviced after the built-in unit is installed?

The installation keeps the specified adjustment and removal routes accessible. Removable head covers expose the relevant running parts; the completed leaf also needs room to follow its removal path. The named mechanism and component list identify compatible later replacements.
