BLD Magnetic Track Lighting with Three Rail Profiles

Compare three BLD magnetic-track profiles and five module forms: straight and angled diffuse bars, six-optic bars and a cylindrical spotlight. Build a component schedule around the rail profile, lighting role and electrical package.

BLD Magnetic Track Profiles & Lighting Modules

Three Rail Profiles

The PM profile has broad side wings, the YM has a projecting rim and the MZ has a plain-sided exterior. Each surrounds an open track channel. Their different outer shapes matter at the ceiling interface, and each name is an ordering reference with its own mounting details.

Diffuse Bars & Six-Optic Bars

BLD-FG300 and BLD-ZDFG300 have broad diffuse faces, with straight and angled forms. BLD-GS6 and BLD-ZDGS6 present a line of six smaller optical openings. These differences let the lighting schedule distinguish a broad luminous strip from a row of discrete optical points.

A Separate Cylindrical Spotlight

BLD-MCD42 adds a cylindrical spotlight form to the module selection. Its compact aperture plays a different role from a diffuse bar. Module references belong in the component list so a rail length is not mistaken for a complete lighting package.

PM Wide-Wing Profile

BLD-PM-Track-100 has wide perforated side wings, shown in the profile image. Those wings create a larger ceiling-interface footprint than the central channel alone. The selected ceiling detail must account for the complete outer profile.

YM Rimmed Profile

BLD-YM-Track-100 shows projecting edges beside its track channel. The rim changes the appearance and the adjoining-ceiling relationship compared with the plain-sided profile. Match the profile reference to the ceiling detail as well as the channel appearance.

MZ Plain-Sided Profile

BLD-MZ-Track-100 has a compact plain-sided outer form. The channel stays open while the exterior differs from the winged and rimmed choices. The order uses this exact profile reference with its own fixing and connection components.

BLD Magnetic Track Route & Electrical Interfaces

Rail Route & Module Positions

The arrangement drawing separates rail length L from the placement of bars and spot modules. A continuous line can carry different module forms. Corners, joints, end conditions and the lighting positions should appear in the same ceiling layout.

Profile Footprint & Ceiling Construction

The channel opening is only one part of the profile. Wings, rims, supporting fixings and the adjacent ceiling finish also occupy space. The actual selected rail section determines the ceiling interface.

Electrical System & Service Access

Rail, module, feed and driver references must form one compatible electrical package. Driver location and service access belong in the layout alongside the rail itself. Coordinate the voltage and control requirements of that complete package before connecting the system.

BLD Magnetic Track Components & Cost Factors

Rail Type, Length & Connections

The selected PM, YM or MZ profile and the actual rail route determine the rail list. Separate sections, joints, ends and feeds have their own quantities.

Module Mix

Straight and angled diffuse bars, six-optic bars and cylindrical spots produce different component schedules. Quantity is counted by module reference as well as rail length.

Drivers & Control Package

Power supplies, feeds and any control components belong to the selected electrical system. Their capacity and compatibility follow the actual module schedule.

Ceiling Work & Delivery

Ceiling preparation, support work and electrical installation are quoted as site work. Packing and freight follow the actual rail sections and lighting components being shipped. Tell us the rooms and quantities and we will put this on one quote with everything else you are ordering, and show you what fits in a container.

BLD Magnetic Track Lighting FAQs

How do the three BLD rail profiles differ?

PM has broad side wings, YM has a rimmed form and MZ has plain sides. All three show an open channel, but their outer ceiling-interface shapes differ. The profile reference must match its selected installation detail.

Which lighting modules are shown?

The selection includes FG300 and ZDFG300 diffuse bars, GS6 and ZDGS6 six-optic bars, and the MCD42 cylindrical spotlight. The straight and angled forms are separate model references.

Is a rail length a complete lighting kit?

A rail is one component. A complete order also lists the chosen modules, feeds, ends, drivers and other required connection parts. Their quantities follow the actual route and lighting layout.

Can these modules be mixed with any magnetic track?

No. Compatibility is specific to the chosen rail and electrical system. Use a matched set of rail, module, feed and driver references; a similar-looking channel is not enough.

What measurements are needed for a rail layout?

Record the rail route, individual section lengths, full profile footprint and module positions. Feeds, ends, ceiling connections and driver service access occupy space beyond the central track channel.

What information is needed for a multiroom order?

Provide the ceiling route, profile choice, rail lengths, module positions and room references. The electrical package and service-access locations are then coordinated with that component schedule.
