Inward-folding glass leaves
Two connected glass leaves fold inward from a wall-hinged edge. The free end travels along an upper guide track as the center joint moves into the shower. This arrangement opens differently from a single swinging door or two bypass sliding panels: the folded glass needs room inside the enclosure, while the remaining doorway provides the usable entry.
The selected package uses two wall-to-glass hinges on the first leaf and two glass-to-glass hinges at the folding joint. A full-width upper track, one hanger at the free leaf, wall-to-track connectors and a compatible stop complete the movement system. The hinge bodies use solid brass. Track and connection parts are specified together; a pair of ordinary shower hinges does not form this assembly.
The selected glass is 8 mm monolithic tempered glass with finished edges. Hinge holes, hanger holes and glass deductions follow the exact chosen hardware templates before tempering. Glass width and the combined mass of both leaves are checked together against the current matched system instructions. Site trimming or drilling of finished tempered glass is not part of the installation.
Polished chrome gives the hinges, hanger, connectors and pull a bright reflective finish, with the upper track in a matching finish from the same hardware package. Clear glass shows the folding joints and room finishes, and glass tint and final sample reference are recorded alongside the metal finish.
Brushed nickel gives a softer, directional metal look on the same guided bi-fold configuration. Hinges, exposed connections, hanger and handle are matched as one set, with the track reference and its finish on the same parts schedule.
The selected pull is a compact knob on the free leaf. Its projection is coordinated with the folding leaves and the shower fittings. A compatible stop limits overtravel, while the center, wall and bottom seals follow the actual glass gaps and threshold. Handle changes or thicker seals can alter the parked position, so they are included in the movement detail.

The layout uses a 900 mm finished wall-to-wall opening and a nominal 2000 mm glass height. The leaves start as an equal two-part split, and hinge gaps, the center joint, closing seals and the hanger detail then set the final glass widths, which are narrower than 450 mm each. Upper-track elevation and installed height follow the approved assembly drawing.
The folding joint travels into the shower as the free leaf moves toward the hinged wall, so shower controls, benches, rails and the user's space stay outside that path. The parked glass, handle and seals reduce the passage, and the usable entry is measured on the completed layout. Left- or right-hand folding is fixed on the order elevation.
The wall-hinged edge and both upper-track ends connect to suitable structural backing. Tile and grout are finish layers, with the fixing and waterproofing detail coordinated behind them. The bottom sweep and threshold follow the floor falls and actual glass clearance. The complete assembly needs its own water-management detail.
Finished opening measurements, glass height, handing and the hardware template set the glass cutting list, with edge finishing, holes, notches and glass identification specified before tempering. A larger opening can call for a different complete system.
The hardware line includes the two wall hinges, two folding-joint hinges, upper track, one hanger, end connectors and compatible stop. Handle, seals and fixings are listed with their actual references and quantities. A hinge-only price leaves out parts required for the selected guided movement.
The selected finish applies across the scheduled exposed parts. Handle type, seal profiles, threshold detail and left- or right-hand folding can change the parts list. These choices stay with the accepted glass layout so the finish order and the fabrication order describe the same door.
The quote separates processed glass, the matched hardware package, packing and freight. Site measurement, structural backing, waterproofing, installation and final adjustment are individually assigned. Replacement glass follows the retained cutting and hardware references, including the original handing and hole pattern.
