Ceramic & Porcelain Flat Tile Baseboards

A Flat Tile Face at the Wall Base

This baseboard is a flat tile face along the bottom of the wall, marking the room perimeter above the floor and continuing through corners and doorway returns. The base tile, the wall behind it and the floor junction are each detailed in the room drawing.

Ceramic & Porcelain Selections

Ceramic and porcelain are offered as separate material choices for the flat base. A dark ceramic appearance can continue the tone of a dark floor, while a white porcelain appearance creates a lighter perimeter against a gray floor. Material, color and face finish belong together in the tile schedule.

Top Edges, Ends & Corner Cuts

The top edge stays exposed above the tile base, so a smooth top transition, a cut end beside a door casing and an outside corner each need a deliberate edge detail. Corner treatment and finished ends are listed apart from the straight tile lengths.

Dark Ceramic Baseboards

The dark ceramic base creates a continuous band at the floor edge. It can coordinate closely with a dark tiled floor while remaining visibly separate from the painted wall. At a doorway or outside corner, the exposed end and any cut edge become part of that color arrangement.

White Porcelain Baseboards

The white porcelain base gives the wall perimeter a lighter line. The selected appearance has a flat face and a softly rounded upper edge. Its contrast against a gray floor makes changes in base height, joints and corner alignment more noticeable.

Base Height & Wall Finish

A 4-inch nominal base gives a lower band than a 6-inch nominal base: the taller format takes more of the wall, the lower one leaves more wall finish showing. Line the chosen height up with door casings, cabinet ends and changes in floor level.

Baseboard Heights, Joints & Corners

4 x 24, 6 x 24 & 4 x 36 Inches

The offered nominal formats are 4 x 24, 6 x 24 and 4 x 36 inches, with project-specific sizing also available. The 4 x 24 and 6 x 24 formats compare base height at the same nominal length; 4 x 24 and 4 x 36 compare length at the same nominal height. Actual finished dimensions and the required edge treatment are identified with the selected pieces.

Joint Frequency Along the Perimeter

A 36-inch nominal length produces fewer repeated vertical joints than a 24-inch length over the same straight run. Doorways, short returns and corner cuts change the useful length of each piece. Lay out complete runs together so small end cuts do not accumulate at prominent positions.

Inside Corners, Outside Corners & Door Ends

Inside corners and outside corners need different cuts and edge decisions, and door casings, cabinet plinths and changes in floor finish create their own stopping points. The baseboard schedule marks those locations, and setting materials and the wall-floor junction follow the installation detail.

Tile Baseboard Supply & Cutting Costs

Material, Appearance & Format

Ceramic or porcelain, selected face appearance and nominal height/length identify the baseboard selection. A straight dark ceramic run and a white porcelain run with a taller base are separate material and cutting packages.

Straight Lengths & Cut Pieces

Quantities follow the wall perimeter, doorway deductions, returns and cutting layout, and longer pieces change joint frequency and how short cuts fit the run. Corner pieces, finished ends and spare tiles are itemized individually.

Top Edges & Corner Work

Exposed top edges, end returns and outside-corner cuts add different finishing work, so the order marks factory-finished edges, site cuts and which edges stay exposed after installation.

Packing, Freight & Site Installation

Packing protects tile faces and finished edges, and shipment quantity and destination set the freight. Wall preparation, setting materials, joint treatment, site cutting and installation labor are added only when included in the order. Tell us the rooms and quantities and we will put this on one quote with everything else you are ordering, and show you what fits in a container.

Tile Baseboard Selection FAQs

Is this a curved cove base?

The offered configuration here is flat wall-base tile. Its face meets the floor at a separate junction; the selected white porcelain appearance has a softly rounded top edge. A curved floor-to-wall cove is a different profile.

Which nominal formats are available?

The ceramic and porcelain offer includes 4 x 24, 6 x 24 and 4 x 36 inch nominal formats, with custom sizing also available. Actual finished dimensions and edge treatments are specified for the selected pieces.

What changes between a 4-inch and 6-inch base?

At the same nominal length, the 6-inch format makes a taller band on the wall and the 4-inch format a lower one. Coordinate that height with door casings, cabinets, floor-level changes and the wall finish.

Will a 36-inch piece reduce joints?

No. A longer nominal piece reduces repeated vertical joints along a straight run compared with a 24-inch piece. Doorways, short returns and corners still require a cutting layout, so a longer format does not remove every cut or joint.

Do you supply corner pieces for the baseboards?

Yes. We list inside corners, outside corners and end pieces as separate lines next to the straight baseboard quantity, so every corner is finished cleanly.

Does tile skirting replace the wall-floor waterproofing detail?

The base tile is the perimeter finish. The wall substrate, setting materials, floor-wall junction and any waterproofing are parts of the project construction detail, quoted on their own.
