Custom Rectangular Undermount Bathroom Basins

Choose a rectangular undermount bowl with angular or softly rounded corners, then coordinate its overflow, waste fitting, countertop opening and vanity plumbing space. Basin bodies and complete vanity packages are quoted as different supply lines.

Rectangular Undermount Basins & Countertop Edges

Concealed Rim Below a Stone Counter

The basin sits beneath the countertop, leaving the counter edge exposed around the bowl. Water and cleaning cloths can move across that edge into the basin without passing over a raised sink rim. The bowl, cutout and supporting arrangement form one installation; a countertop opening by itself does not support the basin.

Squared or Rounded Rectangular Bowls

A more angular bowl continues the straight lines of a rectangular vanity and countertop opening. Softer internal corners give a different transition between the side walls and bowl floor. The two profiles share an undermount installation, but their corner geometry changes the opening and the areas reached when wiping the bowl.

Basin, Waste & Countertop Package

The basin can be ordered with matching waste fittings and a stone, quartz or solid-surface vanity top; faucet, cabinet and mirror are scheduled as extras unless included. Basin support and the rim joint are detailed for that bowl and countertop.

Rectangular Bowl & Opening Shape

The outside basin envelope, usable bowl and countertop opening are three different outlines, and a square-corner counter opening may not match a rounded bowl below. The profile carries through to the counter edge and corner radius, so bowl and top are chosen together.

Overflow Channel & Matching Waste

An overflow channel needs a waste fitting that takes water from it, and a basin without overflow uses the matching no-overflow waste. These are plumbing choices, apart from the drain-cap finish, so the order lists basin and waste as a pair.

Single-Handle or Widespread Faucet Layout

Faucets mount through the surrounding top or on the wall. A single-handle faucet needs a different hole layout from a widespread set, and spout reach, handle travel and the distance behind the bowl decide whether the fittings work with the chosen opening.

Vanity Openings, Bowl Depth & Plumbing Space

Basin Envelope & Counter Cutout

Overall basin size is not a cutting template. The layout places the full basin below the counter and records the opening as its own outline, allowing for counter edges, backsplash depth and any adjacent bowl, and fabrication uses the basin's actual rim and internal corners.

Bowl Depth & Vanity Drawer Clearance

A deeper bowl lowers the waste and trap into the cabinet. Drawers, shelf positions and cross rails must leave room for that assembly and access to its connections. An open cabinet or a drawer with a plumbing recess offers different storage below the same countertop layout.

Repeated Basins Across Bathroom Plans

Repeated rooms can share a bowl profile and drain finish with room-specific countertop and faucet positions. Left, right or centered placement changes the cabinet and plumbing layout, and a double-basin top needs two complete bowl and waste positions.

Undermount Basin Cost Factors

Bowl Profile, Depth & Quantity

The basin schedule records the rectangular profile, overall dimensions, bowl depth and number of fixtures. One configuration repeated across rooms keeps the list simple, and each different bowl profile or depth gets its own order line, even in the same color.

Countertop Openings & Edge Work

A basin-only quotation is separate from a fabricated vanity top. The top adds material, cutting, opening-edge finishing, faucet holes and any backsplash or side return. Two basins in one top require two openings and their associated plumbing space.

Waste, Overflow & Faucet Components

The selected overflow arrangement determines the compatible waste. Faucets and their rough-in or flexible connections are separate from the basin body.

Packing, Tops & Local Installation

Basin bodies and fabricated tops are protected at rims, corners and openings, and the packing list keeps fixtures, waste fittings and large top pieces apart. Counter installation, basin support, sealing and final water connections are site tasks with their own prices. Tell us the rooms and quantities and we will put this on one quote with everything else you are ordering, and show you what fits in a container.

Rectangular Undermount Bathroom Basin FAQs

Is this an undermount basin or a drop-in sink?

It is an undermount basin: the bowl fixes below the countertop with its rim hidden, so the counter edge frames the opening. A drop-in sink has a rim that rests on top of the counter and needs a different installation detail.

What is the difference between squared and rounded bowl corners?

Both retain a rectangular footprint. Squared corners give a more angular internal profile; radiused corners soften the transition between the bowl walls and floor. The chosen profile affects the countertop opening and the spaces reached during cleaning.

Can I cut the countertop from the basin outside dimensions?

Outside width and depth describe the whole basin; the opening in the top follows the bowl geometry and rim relationship. Faucet holes, edge finishing and support are coordinated with it.

Does the basin need a special waste when it has an overflow?

Yes. The waste must suit the basin's overflow arrangement: an overflow channel needs a fitting that takes its water, and a no-overflow basin uses the matching waste. The drain-cap finish is chosen on its own.

Can this basin fit above vanity drawers?

It can work with drawers when the cabinet leaves room for the full bowl, waste and trap, which depend on bowl depth and drain position. A plumbing recess or a different drawer layout may be needed, so the cabinet is drawn around the basin itself.

Can I order the basin with a top and faucet?

Yes. A coordinated package can include the basin, vanity top, cutouts, waste and faucet. The schedule identifies the included components and their locations. Cabinetry, mirrors and installation are separate items unless they appear in the same quotation.
