Factory-Sanded Face
The specified supply has a factory-sanded top face ready for the project finishing schedule. Surface sanding and acceptable color/grain variation are recorded against a joined block sample.
End-Grain Oak Flooring Blocks
The oak fibers run through the 20 mm block thickness, presenting the cut end grain at the top. Growth rings and radial features form the surface pattern. Each block is a solid-oak piece with square edges.
The standard block is 100 × 100 mm; the smaller format is 70 × 70 mm. Both use 20 mm solid thickness. Their different square grids provide two pattern scales within the same end-grain construction.
Individual blocks are supplied for a glued floor field. The project specification combines the selected block size with substrate preparation, adhesive and movement-joint layout. The field is counted as individual square pieces and perimeter cuts.

The specified supply has a factory-sanded top face ready for the project finishing schedule. Surface sanding and acceptable color/grain variation are recorded against a joined block sample.
The project schedule identifies the primer or sealer, finish product, application sequence and sheen reference used over the laid block field. The selected site finish is coordinated with the oak sample and the intended interior use.
Individual blocks show different growth-ring arcs and radial features. An approval field combines several blocks to establish the accepted visual range and orientation pattern across the floor.
| Default block | 100 × 100 × 20 mm solid oak. |
|---|---|
| Block size | 100 × 100 × 20 mm solid-oak square-edge block with end grain at the walking face and a factory-sanded surface for site finishing. |
| Smaller block | 70 × 70 × 20 mm solid oak. |
| Grain orientation | End grain at the walking face; fibers run through the thickness. |
| Edges | Individual square-edge blocks for a glued field. |
| Surface supply | Factory-sanded face; project-scheduled site finish. |
| Defined takeoff | 100 default blocks form a 10 × 10 material grid measuring 1000 × 1000 mm. |
| Project schedule | Substrate, adhesive, movement joints, finish system and room-zone block counts. |
Ten 100 mm blocks form a 1000 mm material run, so a 10 × 10 block grid contains 100 pieces within a 1000 × 1000 mm material outline. The room layout also reserves movement joints and establishes the perimeter cutting pattern.
The substrate schedule records flatness, moisture conditions, preparation and the selected adhesive system. The 20 mm block thickness is carried into door and adjacent-floor details together with the adhesive build.
The project floor plan shows perimeter clearances, structural joints and planned movement-joint positions. The block layout is then counted around those interfaces, keeping the end-grain field tied to the room geometry.
The quotation separates 100 and 70 mm blocks. The room layout supplies the main-field count, perimeter cuts and a project spare allowance, giving a clear material quantity for each selected grid.
The price covers solid oak, 20 mm thickness, the factory-sanded face and the accepted end-grain appearance range. A joined sample provides the useful reference for grading and surface preparation.
Substrate preparation, adhesive and site-finishing products are separate scheduled package items. Their quantities follow the floor area and specified application system alongside the block count.
Cartons carry the block size, material reference, count and project zone. Room-group deliveries and retained spare blocks are listed as separate allocations using the same approved block reference.
The top walking face shows the cut ends of the oak fibers, including growth-ring arcs and radial features. The fibers continue through the 20 mm solid block thickness.
The 100 × 100 mm and 70 × 70 mm formats use the same 20 mm solid-oak thickness and square-edge construction. They create different square-grid scales on the floor.
The block face is factory sanded. The project schedule then specifies the site-applied sealer or finish system and its sheen reference over the laid field.
A 10 × 10 arrangement of 100 mm blocks contains 100 pieces in a 1000 × 1000 mm material outline. The room plan adds its movement-joint layout and perimeter cut allocation.
The useful package combines substrate flatness and moisture conditions, preparation, adhesive, movement joints and the site-finish system. Door and adjacent-floor details include the 20 mm block plus adhesive build.
A joined approval sample records the end-grain color and pattern range. Cartons and retained spares carry the same material reference, block size and project-zone code.
