Contemporary two-story exterior with stone, wood-toned cladding, pale walls and dark window frames

Exterior Design & Material Selection

Develop a facade and exterior finish scheme from your architect’s plans. NOVARMIA brings wall materials, door and window finishes, entrances and selected terrace areas into coordinated views and material selections, for design-only or design-and-supply projects.

Facade, Entrance & Terrace Design

We develop the exterior appearance from the supplied building plans. The work brings wall finishes, doors, windows and the selected outdoor areas into coordinated views, with material locations identified for review.

Exterior areaDesign and selection work
Facade CompositionThe relationship of wall finishes, openings and material changes across the agreed elevations.
Entrance AreasDoor appearance, surrounding wall finishes and entrance surfaces coordinated with the existing architectural arrangement.
Terrace & Patio SurfacesThe agreed exterior finish direction and its visual relationship to the adjoining building and openings.
Material & Product SelectionsCandidate finishes, frame colors and product references that can be developed into the relevant purchasing list.

Facade Materials, Door Appearance & Exterior Surfaces

Facade Finishes, Windows & Doors

The design considers the size and distribution of exterior materials alongside the window and door appearance. Stone, panels, metal accents or coated surfaces can create different visual relationships. The proposed selections are coordinated with the supplied elevation and the products being considered.

Doors & Windows

Entrances & Terrace Finishes

Entrance surrounds, paving and terrace surfaces are reviewed as part of the agreed exterior area. Color, surface character and transitions to the building affect the appearance. Levels, drainage, foundations and other site-construction decisions remain with the local project team.

Exterior Finish Palettes for Walls, Frames & Paving

Wall materials, frame colors and paving are reviewed together. Each candidate finish is tied to a facade area, opening or outdoor surface, so the concept can be developed into product selections.

Wall Materials, Color & Surface Character

We compare stone patterns, panel proportions and smooth or textured finishes on the elevation. The concept identifies where each finish starts and stops, so the material choice can be reviewed with the entrance and window arrangement.

Window & Door Appearance

Frame color, exposed profiles and door finishes are reviewed against the adjoining wall material. The selected appearance then needs a matching product choice, with dimensions and installation details developed through the product and local design work.

Adjacent Finishes & Exposed Joints

We review material transitions at openings, corners and terrace edges, including where exposed joints fall in the composition. The concept establishes the appearance; support, weatherproofing and fixing details require product-specific information and local technical design.

Elevations, Site Information & Product Requirements

We use architectural references and local project information to define the exterior-design brief. Candidate products are considered with the requirements supplied for their intended location.

Exterior Design Review & Product Quote Coordination

The exterior views and material direction provide a common basis for review. The selected appearance is then connected to the relevant product inquiries, with differences between a design preference and the available product information identified.

  1. Agree the Elevations & Areas

We review the current drawings and identify the facades, entrance or outdoor areas included. The existing architecture, design stage and local professional responsibilities establish the basis for the work.

  2. Develop Views & Material Choices

The agreed views bring wall finishes, frames, doors and exterior surfaces into the same composition. Comments relate to the affected area or selection, so revisions address the actual design decision.

  3. Connect Selections to Product Inquiries

Where supply is included, material and product preferences are developed into item inquiries and quotations. Dimensions, technical data and installation interfaces follow the relevant product and local-team review before order commitments.

A design-only commission ends with the files listed in the proposal. Product supply is a separate engagement; final site measurement, structural work, permits and construction remain with the responsible project professionals.

Exterior Design Fees, Files & Revisions

The fee follows the elevations and exterior areas to develop, the state of the existing design and the requested level of views and material coordination. A finish update to an established elevation involves different work from several facade directions.

Design Areas & Required Views
Your proposal lists the elevations, entrances or outdoor areas included, the views required and the extent of material selection and product coordination. Added views, missing architectural information or another design direction can change the work involved.
PDF, CAD & Review Images
PDF files, editable CAD and review images are available for the agreed design commission. Our proposal identifies the actual files and detail level. Product quotations and any further technical work are defined on their own.
Included Reviews & Additional Work
Our proposal states the included review rounds. Additional areas, a changed direction or extra rounds are quoted with their time impact before work starts. Corrections to errors in our work do not use the client’s revision allowance.

Exterior Design & Material Selection Questions

Can you use my architect’s existing elevations?

Yes. Existing plans and elevations establish the building form, openings and dimensions for the exterior work. We identify the facades and areas to develop, then coordinate the proposed appearance and materials within that brief. Changes affecting the architecture return to your architect for review.

Does exterior design include structural engineering or permits?

This service concerns exterior appearance, material direction and agreed product coordination. Structural design, code review, permit documents and site engineering remain with qualified professionals at the project location.

Can windows, doors and cladding be considered together?

Yes. Frame color, door appearance, wall materials and the proportions shown on the elevation can be reviewed as one scheme. Product dimensions, installation details and applicable performance requirements then need the selected product information and local project review before the supply list is finalized.

Are terraces, landscaping and pools included?

Our proposal identifies the exterior areas included. Entrance and terrace finishes can form part of the visual scheme. Landscape construction, drainage, pool structures or equipment, and on-site work are specialist tasks of their own instead of automatic parts of the exterior-design commission.

How are materials considered for my project location?

The selection takes account of the location, exposure and requirements supplied by your local team. Proposed products need their own material and performance information. The relevant professionals review suitability for the actual assembly and use.

What is included in the exterior design proposal?

Our proposal lists the elevations or areas, views, material-selection work, product coordination and files included. PDF, CAD and review images can be provided within the agreed design brief. Fees and review rounds depend on that work; additional areas or a changed design direction are quoted before the extra work starts.
